The Pigeon Pages NYC reading series nests monthly online via Zoom with McNally Jackson Books. This month, we are thrilled to host Michael Kleber-Diggs, Alex McElroy, and Camille Wanliss, hosted by Jiordan Castle.
We showcase a dynamic and diverse group of writers for a literary evening each month and are proud to be a platform for emerging writers while also celebrating the successes of local authors. Our readings are always free & open to the public.
ABOUT YOUR AUTHORS
Michael Kleber-Diggs is a poet, essayist, and literary critic. His debut poetry collection, Worldly Things, won the Max Ritvo Poetry Prize and will be published by Milkweed Editions on June 8th, 2021. Among other places, Michael’s writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Great River Review, Water~Stone Review, Poem-a-Day, Poetry Northwest, Potomac Review, Hunger Mountain, Memorious, and a few anthologies. Michael is married to Karen Kleber-Diggs a tropical horticulturist and orchid specialist. Karen and Michael have a daughter who is pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance at SUNY Purchase.
Alex McElroy is a nonbinary writer based in Brooklyn. Their writing appears in Vulture, Buzzfeed, The Atlantic, The Cut, Tin House, and elsewhere. They have received fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Tin House Summer Workshop, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and the Elizabeth George Foundation. The Atmospherians is their first novel.
Camille Wanliss is a New York-based writer and founder of Galleyway, an online platform that spotlights opportunities for writers of color. A 2020 Pigeon Pages Essay Contest winner, her work has also appeared in Plantin Mag, Raising Mothers, Anomaly, Kweli Journal, Weird Sister, and The Feminist Wire, among others. In Spring 2021, she was selected for AWP’s Writer to Writer Mentorship Program. Additional honors include the Adria Schwartz Award in Women’s Fiction, the Small Axe Literary Prize shortlist, and fellowships and residencies from Vermont Studio Center and Writing in the Margins. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York.

Jiordan Castle is the author of the chapbook All His Breakable Things. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Hobart, HuffPost, New Ohio Review, The New Yorker, and elsewhere. She is an Editor-at-Large for Pigeon Pages and a contributor to the LA-based food and culture magazine Compound Butter.
